Matteo is a highly skilled professional with over 20 years of experience in the Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) sector, specializing in peptide API development. As Piramal’s Vice President and Global Peptide Technical Lead, he provides comprehensive oversight for the Peptide API business, ensuring effective management from initial project evaluation to customer interaction. Throughout his career, Matteo has successfully navigated over 70 projects through various stages of clinical development, leading to the commercial launch of five products. He has developed peptide drug products across multiple therapeutic areas and created PEG-conjugated commercial peptide APIs, including those with multi-cyclic structures.

Matteo holds a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Milano, Faculty of Pharmacy. He holds five industry patents and has authored several notable publications. As a member of the Piramal Pharma Solutions Science Collective, Matteo contributes invaluable insights and expertise to enhance the Organization’s capabilities.
