Conor Barry serves as the Global Biologics Technical Lead at Piramal Pharma Solutions, where he provides scientific oversight for the Company’s antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) programs. With over 19 years of specialized experience, he combines his deep scientific knowledge and technical expertise to navigate the complexities of the sector. As a member of the Science Collective, he leverages his bioconjugate expertise to offer innovative solutions and insights.
Throughout his career, Conor has significantly contributed to the development and CMC filing of numerous bioconjugates. He has overseen large site teams and successfully led them to the advancement of over 40 bioconjugates into clinical trial, and ultimately the commercial production of two. He has enhanced R&D capabilities by establishing a robust network of CRO and CMO partners and developing a focused in-house R&D facility. Conor has also spearheaded the creation of an IP-protected scalable manufacturing process for a multi-billion dollar generic peptide drug.
Conor holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University College Cork and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Bristol. He furthered his education with a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from the University of Oxford. He is a member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the University of Edinburgh and has authored or co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications.
