Jean-Francois is responsible for leading and directing the API development function globally at PPS, as well as driving strategies and activities critical to the discovery and development programs. He also provides scientific leadership to the R&D functions at API sites to ensure that the R&D efforts are managed, in an optimized way, aligned with the overall strategy, and in compliance with all necessary group and legal requirements.
Jean-Francois is a seasoned professional with 20+ years of experience in chemical development and manufacturing of API across CRO/CDMO and pharmaceutical companies. He has worked in diverse roles across organizations such as Aptuit, Circassia, Shire Pharmaceuticals and Evotec (erstwhile Oxford Asymmetry). Prior to joining Piramal Pharma, Jean-Francois was associated with Summit Pharmaceuticals UK as Senior Director CMC API and was leading development, validation and manufacturing of late phase company asset while having significant interface with CROs and CDMOs across US, EU, India and China. Prior to Summit, he was leading the API development and GMP manufacturing activities for Aptuit’s pilot plant in Verona, Italy.
Jean-Francois holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Institut de Chimie des Substances Naturelles (ICNS), France.
